Work Statement
Gloria approached dance from the martial arts, which she still practices in the art of the Japanese sword, from which she learned precision, cleanliness and effectiveness of gesture. In fact, rhythm and gesture are the two principles from which her research takes shape and meaning. Collaborating and dialoguing with artists from a variety of fields and practices, her investigation combines plasticity, compositional rhythm with a special attention, direction and sensitivity to the visual arts. Despite her path and personal growth on the theatrical stages, her practice and prefers more hybrid and performative
forms by being interested in how place, space and community can have a generative meeting point.
